Boxing, Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility

On a night of boxing at the Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility in Motherwell, Anthony Crolla retained his British lightweight title with a unanimous points win over Willie Limond.

Englishman Crolla dominated throughout the 12 rounds, bossing the middle of the ring, outboxing and outworking Scotland's Limond which silenced the 1000 strong Scottish partisan crowd. The final scorecards showed 120-108, 120-108 and 120-109.

On the undercard, Crolla's fellow Mancunian Matthew Hall beat Kris Carslaw in their official eliminator for the British light-middleweight title, Hall emerging victorious with a 96-94, 96-94 and 97-95 scorecard. Edinburgh cruiserweight Stephen Simmons triumphed against John Anthony with a score of 60-55.

Promoted by Frank Warren in conjunction with North Lanarkshire Leisure the action was screened live on BoxNation, a new TV channel dedicated to boxing.

Specialized were contracted by North Lanarkshire Leisure to provide the team of SIA Licensed Door Supervisors required to implement the crowd management and security arrangements for the event.
