British Armed Forces and Veterans Day 2010, Aberdeen

The City of Aberdeen once again honoured its Armed Forces by closing the main street of city, Union Street, for a parade featuring over 1000 serving military service men and women, veteran associations representing all the services, cadets, youth organisations, pipe bands and vintage military vehicles.


As the parade passed the city's Town House a salute was taken by the Lord Provost of Aberdeen Peter Stephen, the First Minister Rt Hon Alex Salmond MSP and Brigadier Simon MJ Bell TD, Assistant Divisional Commander, 2nd Division.
The parade was topped off with a military fly-past above Union Street by a RAF Tornado GR4 fighter jet.
Specialized Security were contracted by Aberdeen City Council to provide the security and crowd management operation for the day's events.
