Cameron Campbell

Chairman

Cameron began working within the security industry in the late 1980s when he went on tour with Deacon Blue as their security manager and is still regarded by many as an expert in close protection.

Cameron was the vision for where the company’s development came from, obtaining the contract for the front of stage security at Glastonbury 1990. Under his stewardship, the company has grown in many different areas of the industry.

Cameron has been at the forefront in the development of the company’s front of stage operation, throughout the years refining the techniques and processes which have been adopted on a large scale and can be seen replicated throughout the world.

Kara Campbell

Chief Executive

Kara has been involved in the security industry since 1990, starting as a part-time event and door steward.

Kara has been full-time with the company since 1999 and has been involved with every aspect of the company’s development within the industry. During this time Kara gained a wealth of experience working at all levels of the command chain in all areas of our business.

Once Kara became part of the senior management team she performed the role of both deputy and lead at numerous events throughout the UK.

Now, with responsibility for all our events in England and Ireland, Kara is lead manager for Download Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Reading Festival, Electric Picnic and BBC Proms in the Park to name but a few.

Scott O’Neill

Managing Director

Scott has been involved in the event security industry since 1990, starting as a part-time door supervisor and event steward whilst at university studying for a BEng in Software Engineering.

Scott began full-time with the company in April 2009 leaving a major role with a global software firm to become part of our senior management team running large events. A number of these events have included environments where multiple security companies have been involved in the event’s security operation under the direction of an event security manager.

Scott has a Diploma in Events Safety Management from Derby University.

Tom Clements

Operations Director

Tom has been involved within the security and crowd management industry since 1990, during which time he has been involved with many major live music and sporting events, gaining a wealth of experience working at all levels of the command chain, both as deputy and lead manager.

Tom was a member of the working party involved in the writing of the Event Guide and Safety at Sports Grounds Guide, produced by the Health and Safety Executive, as well as Disability at Events Guide, produced by the Disability Rights Commission.

Seen by some within the industry as an expert in crowd management, Tom is also a visiting speaker at Robert Gordon University.

Tom has a Diploma in Events Safety Management from Derby University.

Tom is currently Vice Chairman of the National Outdoor Events Organisation (NOEA).

John Thompson

Operations Director

John has been involved with Specialized Security and the Event industry, since coming on board part time in 1994, as a Door Supervisor and then Event Supervisor.

John left a national role in construction management and became a full-time Operations Manager with the company in 2001, he has been involved with every aspect of the company’s development within the industry, working at all levels of the command chain, both as deputy and lead manager at many major music and sporting events.

John developed a niche Artiste Liaison role where he manages both the backstage security operations and artist security requirements at many major events.

Simon Downie

Business Development Manager

Simon has been involved with Specialized Security since 1996 working as a part time door supervisor and event steward.

Simon has been used extensively as a consultant for the company with his global expertise on retail crime where he has lectured in locations such as the EEA, Russia and India.Simon has also carried out close protection and bodyguard services for various persons including David Haye, Usain Bolt and Salma Hayek.

Simon joined us in 2017 and is looking forward to bringing new ideas and business opportunities to the company.

Paul Clarke

Training and Operations Manager

Paul joined us in a full time role in 2015 after spending 3 years as a consultant on many of our summer events.

Paul assisted with the inception of the company’s Quality Assurance Team who deploy independently of the staff group and assess staff knowledge and understanding of their roles and responsibilities.

Paul also oversees our Specialized Training Academy which offers a diverse range of services for the security sector, Health and Social Care and the retail industry as well as other sectors.

He has previously provided body guarding services for Amir Khan and the Directors of a Scottish Premiership football team.
